Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant provides quality care and services to patients by assisting dentists and other staff in a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties.
Assists in the efficiency and productivity of patient flow through timely, accurate and professional preparation of patients and patient information, including taking x-rays, patient charting, sterilization duties, etc.
Supports dentist and dental hygienist in community outreach, education, and portable delivery of dental treatment.
Full-time position.
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position working Monday-Friday, 7:
45 am to 4:
15 pm.
Responsibilities Include:
o Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipmento Review and update patient health histories and related administrative documentationo Assist dentist chair-side by organizing and preparing instruments for dentist's use and assisting as needed during procedures while helping patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatmento Deliver care as delegated by the supervising dentist such as polishing of teeth, taking dental impressions and pouring models, placement of topical anesthetic, and placement of pit and fissure sealantso Coordinate with written and verbal communication with dental laboratories for prosthetic applianceso Demonstrate knowledge of dentistry procedures, taking clear and concise radiographs, clinic infection control procedures, cleaning and sterilization of instruments, tray setup, and materialso Interact positively with a diverse patient population and provide services in a manner that is appropriate for the patient's ageo Coordinate with front desk as needed for continuity of patient careo Participate in staff and educational meetingso Assist in monitoring the safety, cleanliness, and professionalisms of the clinical area at all times WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK o Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluidso Regular exposure to radiation sourceso Regular exposure to fumes and/or gaseso Regular exposure to biohazard waste materialso Regular exposure to electrical hazards High School/GED preferred o At least two (2) years dental assisting experience preferredo Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, and office management system software requiredo A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage upon hire (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) requiredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
